Rail and pink

Heres the pink paper that inspired me to paper my rail and here are also some pictures of my rail. The pink spray paint annoyingly ran out half way through but wen i put it together i quite liked the normal paper with pink!

I also did a quick sample on calico to see what it would look like, turned out well but from the experience with the pink running out i dont think i want to use it for my stenciling. Can just use paint. Speaking of paint here are some paints i just got delivered to help decorate my cutouts.

Green Jacket

Look at this fab jacket i brought from a charity shop, perfect for working with the girls at Selfridges.

What my mum and dad wore...

I found some old (very old) photos of my Mum and Dad from the 1980's. Check out the outfits (and the hair) but i think they look rather stylish.

Both these photos took in 1984. Top picture from left to right Katrina Jarvis (my mum), Marry Jarvis (My Nana), Harry Jarvis (My Gaga) in my Nana and Gaga's kitchen in Abingdon. Botton photo is my Mum looking beautiful as always.

Top photo is Paul Jarvis (My Dad) and the little baby is my older brother Joe Jarvis.
Bottom photo, which i love the clothes, is my Uncle. Those glasses! Typical fashion of the 1980's.
The bottom photo is one of my favourites. My Aunties and Uncles near the beach i think. But great photo for showing off the fashion. I know 'The Girls' want crazy colours and things that sparkle, but i do want to incorrupate some classic 80's styles. The stonewash jeans, washed out jumpers with small patterns and collars out the top.

Not sure who the women is in the red and white stripey dress but its really nice! Another classic style and also her babies all in one knitted baby grow.

This is my Dad, showing off his lovely range of jumpers (the bottom one which i have now adopted) and his fashional mustache.

These photos are really helpful for me to see really life fashion, not just from magazines from that era or looking at Madonna! The 1980's werent all that bad after all. After seeing these photos i asked my mum if she had any old classics left. So i had a rumage and this is what i found.

Cant wait to start wearing them!

Origami logo

I looked back over my work and saw that i have always used alot of origami shapes. I started to draw out some shapes on illustrator. I really like these. Here are some samples.

Original shapes

More developed shapes

I really like this shape so i put it into different positions.

I particualry like this shape so i am going to develope it further.

I love them in colour! Definitely going to use it.

Website example

I focused on Fred Butler in my last project and one of the reasons i really like her was her website! Its brilliant! I live how you can click on the buttons of the calculator and it takes you to each section.

My rail!

I managed to find a rail in a charity shop. This is to hang all my cutouts on. I wanted to spray paint it pink and gave this ago but it didnt show up very well, whilst i was going this some of the spray paint went on to the newspaper and it looked really good! So i decided to glue paper all over my rail and them spray paint it.
Here are a few photos of the newspaper rail.

I drew up a quick diagram to show how big my back drop will be in my cut out wardrobe. I think i will need 7m of calico!
